Earliest Memories

If you want to get special insight into your attitudes toward school, you might want to dig down to your earliest memory of school. While any memory can be meaningful, earliest memories often have special meanings, although these are not always obvious. There's a simple reason that very early memories are likely to be important: If they weren't, you would have forgotten them, just as you have forgotten so much else!

Memories, we now know, are not like precious gems that you lock away in a safe and take out now and then to look at. Instead, they change, with parts being added or taken away, or altered over time. A very old memory tells about the original event, and also about how one has thought and felt about that event through the years. Your very first memory of school--perhaps a particular teacher or child, or a classroom where you were especially happy or sad--may give you clues about your deepest feelings toward school, as those feelings have evolved over time.

The insights you get through this process may help you to take a fresh look at your present-day responses to school--your child's school, that is. And that fresh look may be what you need to be able to support your child's return to school realistically, without bringing in too much of your own history, positive or negative.

Memories You'd Rather Forget

Many of us have packed away in our brains, alongside memories of happy events, recollections that are decidedly less welcome. Maybe the troublesome event was that afternoon when you were chased or bitten by a dog, or a particularly painful visit to the dentist. Maybe it was a song that was playing when you broke up with your boyfriend, or a food that made you ill.

The problem is, now you can't walk by a dog without feeling anxious, the very mention of dentists makes you squirm, you can't bear to listen to the theme song from Titanic, and you haven't been able to look at--let alone taste--fried clams in years.

Remembering many years in 1 night.....

Few time back got a chance to stay at 1 of my oldest frnds house, with 3 other long time frnds. We were relaxed as their was no tension from the study side, it was a cold weekend and it what saturday night. All us friends knew each other for atleast 8 years. We had good dinner and sat down to watch a movie. After that we were unable to decide what to do next. We sat down in a circle and started to discuss our old days, like how we became frnds, how we enjoyed life which had little problems and little worries, playing with toys, getting what ever we demanded, those old good days. At one time this brought tears to our eyes when we missed those days now but we all realized that time moves on and we have to move with it too. But still we enjoyed the discussion and laughed on our silly mistakes of those old good days.

My first week at school.....

This is based upon what i remember and the story told to me by my parents, my siblings and some of my teachers whom i had a chance to meet again in the later years.

My first day was quiet peacefull. I acted diffrently from what my parents were expecting. Woke early in mornigng, got dressed quietly and sat in car calmly. This day was also the first day at school for 2 of my cousins who were with me in the car but highly unlike me. Upon reaching the school i walked in calmly with my mother, was handed over to the teacher and sat quietly in the class and outside standing were both my cousins crying and shouting. After a while things were normal (after all the children had been given sweets to keep their mouths shut ;) )I was given extra for being a nice child. And the day went fine. This thing continued for 2 more days and it was the 4th day when things started changing. That day my cousins were quiet and calm and i was crying and crying refusing to go. Same was through the way and upon reaching the school, i just did not stop crying and refused to go in the class. All children and their parents seeing why is he refusing after 3 days. After being bribed with sweets and chocolates i agreed to stay in the school but that day i did not sat in the class but on my desire i sat outside the classroom just next to the door, enjoying my chocolates and whole class specially my 2 cousins watching me with their eyes wide open...........

Birthday Romance

On my 21st birthday my family and in-laws took me for a nice dinner. After i finished my dinner, the waiter came and told that someone came to meet me so i shall go towards the entrance. As i walked out of the main door,i saw a black limousine standing right in the front.I got all so excited because it was one of my favorite cars. And when I opened the door my fiance was sitting inside with a bouquet.

The Unforgettable

The most beautiful moment of my life was when I held my newly born niece for the first time. She was so beautiful and fragile that my hands were trembling when I held her in my arms.

Emotional Attachments

I was touched by that moment when I was shifting from Karachi to Lahore leaving all my childhood friends behind. The last day when I met them they threw a surprise farewell party. And I said good bye to them with eyes full of tears and heart full of memories.
